A photo summary of the short 3 months I've been here in the US. It's cliched to say this, but time really does fly by way too quickly. Faster than you'd expect or want it to sometimes. Being away from home, being in a new place and needing to handle things on my own, sort of gave me a glimpse of how the latter chapters of my life would be. Though it might still be too early to make assumptions of that sort, but I do strongly feel that this new found freedom and responsibility is a teacher in disguise be it physically, mentally or emotionally. Lesson learnt so far, Persistence pays, Contentment brings inner joy, Confidence goes a long way.

Out and About, Streets of Kuala Lumpur

Spent the weekend in KL walking the streets of Bukit Bintang, taking in all the happenings around. Weather was on our side, so we were able to walk around without much complaint about the famous Malaysian heat. It seriously gets craazy sometimes. Buskers by the side of the street preparing for their performance, street soccer players show-casing their talents, decorative lights on all the streets lamps, busy roads filled with both pedestrians and cars are some among the many things I love about KL city. It's weird I feel like a tourist ( in my own country) whenever I visit KL because there's always something new or different there that I've never seen during my previous visits. It really is great! Anyways, looking forward to Chic Pop this coming Saturday. Only God knows how much I loveeee look-seeing stuff like theseee. Excitedd. Can't wait.

A journey through time

Seems like time is just a number, a date that passes by each day making life a day shorter and existence a minute lesser. We go through our daily routine, whether if it's university or work, so caught up in what we're doing as it is the thing that seem most meaningful at this point in time. I sometimes sit and wonder, asking myself things about the future, but the only conclusion that I could be definite about is, I have no idea. Uncertainty and the hazy path of the future does scare me a little bit, but i guess it also is also the best part of it all. What would life be if you knew what was coming your way and everything was predictable? Words such as Passion, Motivation and Fear would never have existed in our dictionaries. Guess I can only wait for the future to come my way to find out.

Lovin' the One Teaspoon line brought by ASOS. The flowy dresses, cropped tunics, rugged shorts etc gives a laid back feel with an edge to the entire line which makes them perfect outfits for Summer. Scrolling through fashion blogs while trying to study for finals next week. Not a very bright idea. Hopefully I'll get all the necessary information squeezed into my brain as soon as possible and score a B+. That's all I'm aiming for considering the effort I'm putting in for it. Had a day well spent with the family in Bukit Tinggi - Pahang. Weather was cool which was great, had some pretty awesome Italian food, ended the day with a satisfied belly and a contented heart. (:

And so my baby boy turns 20 today. I'm here in my house in Malaysia, while he's in the Mississippi jungle in the United States of America. No celebration with him this year, just a breaky phone call due to bad signal. Pretty frustrating to have him away on top of that, not being able to have a decent smooth break-free conversation with him, how annoying is that? But it's all good, I'm just venting. (: Can't wait for him to be back so I can see his cute little face. Miss you hunny bunny. heh. =D

Got struck by the sudden artistic wave. Decided to draw some mini mes' just for fun since I've got some time to spare before i start on my incoming assignments. Feels good to do something less brain consuming for a change. Haven't been feeling very well for the past couple of days - down with the flu. I think being sick makes me more quiet and anti-social. Or at least that's how I feel cause I've been zoning out into my own world lately. Plenty of things to think about. Plenty of things to get done. And so I hope everything turns out just fine.

Some of you may know that I have three crazy dogs at home one which passed away just recently. They drive you insane (definitely), with their never ending barking and their constant need of attention, but even with all the unnecessary drama they give you, we still cant help but to love and spoil them. Dogs in specific I believe brings warmth to the house. There is never the need to feel lonely when you're home alone as you can always count on them to cuddle up next to you waiting for you to caress them. The sight of them wagging their tail welcoming you back home after a long day out is always pleasing.

Some love from Taiwan ♥

A very late update about my trip to Taiwan with my family. Had an amazing time with everybody on the tour not forgetting our lovely tour guide Batu. We ate until our hearts content trying things I never ever tried before. Some of the more bizarre ones were chicken testicles, pork kidney and some Taiwanese fat snails. Sounds pretty disgusting but they really were pretty good. not so much of the kidney though. (: One thing i've noticed about Taiwan is that they have Seven-elevens literally on every street. But I guess that is their form of Mamak stores like we have here. We spent 3 extra days in Taiwan to visit my aunt and her family. It always feels good to spend time with loved ones and for that I am grateful.

Back in Penang at my grandmother's to celebrate Chinese New Year with all the extended family. Red is THE colour as usual, hence the red nail polish and of course, my favourite team jersey. Literally dressed up in all red for my trip back to Penang on new years eve. I had red sandals on, a red handbag in one hand and a red laptop pouch in the other. I predict a very prosperous new year ahead of me. Or at least i hope so. (:

Had my primary school gathering at TGI's yesterday. Can't believe it has been almost 8 years since most of us even met each other. There were some familiar faces and some to the point where I could not even recognize. But the nostalgic feeling of the past and how we still call each other by our mandarin names still leaves me with a fuzzy feeling inside. We talked and laughed and made fun of all the little things we used to do way back in 2003. We lost track of time and ended up heading home at about 2 in the morning with sore throats and husky voices. Good times. <3

Christmas is just around the corner and I have yet to start on any of my Christmas shopping.

Not good at all. Christmas feeling this year seems to be lacking for some weird reason. Hope it all settles in real soon. Looking forward to a great Christmas filled with classic Jim Reeves Christmas carols, a tummy full of Sputnik and Sugee cake and a year supply of joy and laughter from all the loved ones. My boy's leaving for the states to continue his studies real soon. I sincerely wish him the best because I know that's what he's be working for all this while. But I'm gonna miss you. so much. You and me, the memories we've had, too many to even remember. We've been through the high's, and of course, the low's, it was tough but i'd do it again with you because I know that was what made us how we are today.

Had the most amazing girl time at my friend Ivy's. God knows when i hung out with girls since my two best friends left me for Cardiff. haha. But it's all good now. We started off our day with some Tepenyaki and shopping in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Then we headed back to Ivy's to get all dolled up for our lovely dinner at Leonardo's Bangsar. The pork platter we ordered is a must have if you visit there. Even thinking about it now is making me drool. Our night ended with some Baileys, Absolute Citrus, snooker, crazy card game, play dress up and most importantly, great company.

Weeks of constant exams has finally come to an end. I don't know how long I've waited for this day to come. I had so many things planned out for myself to do after those hectic weeks of functioning like a programmed robot. But now that I am finally free from that phase of being a lifeless college student, I don't know where or how to start on making it more colorful. but all is well. I am just glad its all over til next year.
